AMMC aims to complement academic study with exposure to the world of arts and media, as well as the opportunity to network within it. The club aims to foster relationships between Schulich students, other (arts) faculties at York, and the wider arts and media community. Our goals are pursued through the facilitation of industry-relevant panel discussions, awareness events, networking events, and the organization of social activities such as outings to concerts, performances and exhibitions.

Our objective is to facilitate a coalition of students that identify as members of the black community or as allies of the Black community in order to:
1. Showcase Schulich's diversity to attract top talents to the school, making it a leader in issues of diversity and inclusion
2. Assist partner firms increase the diversity in their talent pipeline by hosting networking events and connecting members of the club to professionals within these organizations
3. Hosting various events to help members bolster the knowledge, skills, and experiences required to succeed in securing impactful roles
4. Provide a safe space, both physical and emotional, to creatively explore our identities and connections with places and cultures we identify with
5. Promote the creative expression of the experiences of members of the black community and allies in the Diaspora.

As a club that is bound by our loyalty to feminist values, a love for creative expression, and a commitment to increase diversity and inclusion within Canadian society we decided to form a collective that operates from an inclusive, anti-oppression (anti-colonial, anti-racist, accessible, queer-positive, gender-aware and anti-discriminatory) framework.

The Wellness Certificate is a non-competitive certificate program that allows students to develop skills in 7 dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Career & Financial, Social, Physical, Financial, Intellectual, Creative, and Environment.

To complete the Wellness Certificate, students will need to attend an event or workshop for each dimension of wellness as well as attend a reflection session.

The Wellness Certificate is developed with student needs in mind. During the summer of 2021, we held a series of Open Dialogue series with Schulich to better understand their experiences and needs. From this, we developed the Wellness Certificate.

The learning outcome of the certificate program is to increase students' capacity to handle uncertain and stressful situations through developing skills in different dimensions of wellness.

The certificate is also a great item to have on your resume when applying for jobs.
