Moe Elkayar

Co- President

Self-directed and driven leader with experience in Canadian natural resources and financial transaction advisory services. As Co-President of SFA Moe aims to provide Schulich students with opportunities to network and learn about the different areas in finance through strategic initiatives with the Schulich Global Alumni Network.

Moe is currently a Strategy & Transformation intern at Manulife. Prior to his MBA, Moe worked in Transaction Advisory Services with Grant Thornton helping companies solve their most complex challenges, providing innovation with technical expertise, M&A advisory, and market strategy. Moe has worked with many clients globally to create long term shareholder value by addressing today’s challenges and moving forward into the next generation of technological innovation.

Moe is a CFA Level 3 Candidate and holds a bachelor’s degree in Geophysics from the University of Alberta.

Aakash Raheja

Co- President

As the Co-President of SFA, Aakash aims to organize events that help SFA members enhance their technical knowledge and provide them a platform to catapult themselves in the finance industry.

Aakash comes to SFA with a background in Structured Finance, primarily being involved in deal structuring, relationship management, and risk analysis. He has facilitated multiple financing deals covering M&A financing, equity linked financing, debt refinancing among others.

Aakash is a CFA Level 3 candidate and has completed his CA Certificate and Master of Commerce.

Abdel Ali, CFA

Director of Finance

As the Director of Finance for SFA, Abdel aims to go above and beyond his daily duties by leading three value add initiatives to help the long-term longevity of SFA. 1) Automating the job function to free more time for current and future directors for more value-add initiatives, 2) Play an active role in grant application and helping with corporate sponsors, and final 3) Enhance SFA’s mentoring and training offering.

Abdel comes to SFA with more than five years of progressive experience in Private Equity and working with retail and institutional clients with assets between $100 Million and $2 Billion. He is proficient in financial analysis, financial modeling, and programming in VBA.

Abdel is a CFA charterholder, and holds a double majour in Biology and Finance from York University.

Nikita Danwani

Director of Events

Nikita is currently pursuing her MBA degree from Schulich School of Business, York University with a focus in Finance. In the past, Nikita led business teams at a small-sized travel solutions company in India. She had the opportunity to initiate the department of experiential tourism and worked in the sector of business development simultaneously. She successfully implemented marketing strategies to attract more revenue and gain market share for a company now recognized at national level.

Previously, she worked as an Auditor for Deloitte in the ‘Energy’ industry. Performed various audit procedures under the stages of planning, reporting, controls and substantive testing for the audit of renowned registered and non-registered 'Oil & Gas' and 'Power & Utility' US and Canada based companies. Worked extensively on the review of financial statements prepared on the basis of US GAAP and clients' compliance with the regulatory requirements of SEC, PCAOB and AICPA standards.

Sanjana Veerarajan

Director of Marketing

Sanjana is a second-year student at the Schulich School of Business. Graduated from National Institute of Technology, Trichy with a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering. She has a 2-year experience in the Semiconductors Industry as Firmware Engineer. She co-founded and headed the Product Development department of THAT1CARD.COM a $1.2 MM Event Stationery e-commerce startup (Kravis Consultancy Services)
